France Vision selects Medialive content protection system

CBR Staff Writer Published 09 December 2008

Medialive, a provider of multimedia content protection services, has announced an agreement with France Vision Services, a provider of in-flight entertainment, to provide content protection of its video-on-demand catalog dedicated to the in-flight entertainment market.

Under the terms of this relationship, France Vision Services will be able to bring to the video-on-demand (VOD) service for the in-flight entertainment (IFE) market, teasing capabilities, high-definition videos or enhanced content management.

Medialive's technology, which secures transmission and storage of audio and video streams and downloads through any telecommunication network, reportedly matches France Visions Services's objectives.

This service, which protects content and offers digital rights management (DRM)/conditional access system (CAS) and watermarking combination capabilities, fits the IFE market as well as traditional telecom and digital television sectors, according to Medialive.

Jean-Paul Bourgeois, CEO of France Vision Services, said: We continue to develop new associations and partnerships to bring innovation and distribute our growing catalog to the in-flight entertainment market and our partnership with Medialive fits this goal. Because of France Vision Services's reputation as one of the most trusted names in in-flight entertainment and Medialive's leadership in the technology sector, this partnership is ideal. We are very impressed with the applications they have developed to secure our content for the VOD related distribution models.
